Specific skills: UNICT has an established tradition in the study of the physical-chemical properties of thin films and surfaces, both organic and inorganic. The group’s expertise is in the field of non-conventional surface spectroscopies and in the methodologies of surface modification of thin films and surfaces, with a particular interest towards the processes involved in the interaction of solid surfaces with energetic particles (ion beams, cold plasmas).

Research interest and role in the project :

• (i) Modelling of plasma-surface interaction via the study of inorganic, organic and bio-surfaces after interaction with the plasma
• (ii) spectra interpretation (especially of organic samples) using multivariate analysis techniques,
• (iii) benchmarking.
