National Institute of Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics
Specific skills: NILPRP is specialized in plasma, lasers, and radiation physics. NILPRP, a member of a candidate country, has a crucial role in developing the plasma source as the laboratory has been able for the first time to control and modulate the ion density by superposition of high voltage pulses to an RF plasma. An other achievement, initiated in a French-Belgium-Romanian collaboration, concerns supplementary ionization in pre-ionized pulsed magnetrons for PVD. These unique competences demand the presence of NILPRP within the partnership. Based on its experience in fast pulsed and RF reactive magnetron discharges and on some new concepts on non equilibrium discharges, NILPRP will also be involved in the understanding and the control of the complex plasma chemistry associated with GD-TOF systems.
Research interest and role in the project :Evaluation of the micro modulated and pulse modes. Chemistry of the plasma in modulated modes. Evaluation of different sources. Participation in the lamp design.
